Human Dimension Implementation Meeting WORKING SESSION 16 (specifically selected topic)

28 September, 2016
 Human Dimension Implementation Meeting
WORKING SESSION 16 (specifically selected topic)
Rights of the Child
As delivered by
Mr. Davit Knyazyan, Deputy Head of the Permanent Delegation of Armenia to the OSCE

Mr.  Moderator,
The Delegation of Armenia aligns itself with the statement of the European Union.
In reaction to the statement of the delegation of Azerbaijan we would like to stress that we have no trust in credibility of the allegations just raised. In the civilized world such situations are addressed in the following way: parties to the conflict agree to invite international independent experts, which investigates the incidents and identifies the responsible side.
The Government, which has instructed the delegation of Azerbaijan to read out these baseless allegations has continuously rejected proposals of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh to establish such an investigative mechanism, which would be of assistance to reduce the number of incidents affecting people, living in the conflict area and would positively affect their daily lives.
We would like to encourage the delegate of Azerbaijan to communicate to her capital and ask what the priorities of her authorities are – propaganda or willingness to address the human rights of people living in conflict zone.
Thank You.
