Mr. Chairman, We would like to inform the OSCE Permanent Council that in accordance to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Armenia, dated December 29, 2016, the regular elections of the National Assembly will be held in April 2 this year.
Mr. Chairman, We would like to draw the attention of the Permanent Council to the recent armed provocation by the Azerbaijani armed forces at the north-east section of the Armenia-Azerbaijan state border in the vicinity of the Chinari settlement.
Mr. Chairman, In regard to the statement of the Azerbaijani Delegation we would like to refer to the several Notes Verbale of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nagorno-Karabakh and statements of my Delegation in regard to citizens of Azerbaijan Shahbaz Guliyev and Dilham Askerov, distributed in the OSCE. These persons and another citizen of Azerbaijan Hasan Hasanov committed a number of crimes against citizens of NK in July 2014, namely killing of a teenager Smbat Tsakanian, Mr. Sargis Abrahamyan and gravely wounding Ms. Karine Davtyan.
Mr. Chairman, In regard to the statement of the distinguished Ambassador of Azerbaijan I have already referred to the armed provocation by the Azerbaijani subversive group, which led to death of three Armenian servicemen and to the ongoing investigation in the frames of the opened criminal case.
Mr. Chairman, We had been pleasantly surprised that Azerbaijani delegation initiated the current issue on the extension of the mandate of the Yerevan Office in anticipation if not “mea culpa” but at least some good news.
Mr. Chairman, We regret that instead of demonstrating support and constructive approach to the peace process led by the Minsk Group Co-Chairs, Azerbaijan is again referring to the history of the conflict in distorted manner.
