Statement In Response to Minsk Group Co-Chairs delivered by the Permanent Delegation of the Republic of Armenia at the 1047th Meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council

Mr. Chairman,
We took note of the statement by the Minsk Group Co-Chair countries. In this regard we would like to reiterate that Armenia will continue its cooperation both with the Minsk Group Co-Chairs and the ICRC on humanitarian issues.

We strongly believe that the norms of the international humanitarian law should be fully applied in all circumstances.

Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh closely cooperate with the ICRC on the issue of exchange of information on the missing persons.

Armenia supports and facilitates implementation by the ICRC of the project of collecting DNA samples from the relatives of missing persons. Another measure in support of the ICRC could be the resumption of the meetings between state commissions on hostages, prisoners of war and missing persons.

Likewise, the Armenian side supports other initiatives of the ICRC, aimed at improving the humanitarian situation in the borderline villages and ensuring human rights and fundamental freedoms of prisoners of war and civilians.

We encourage the Azerbaijani side to fully cooperate with the ICRC on the same issues.
